A new publication in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (J Clin Oncol. 2025;43(16):e13898) by Drs. Saloni Walia and Pamela Ward at USC Medical Center describes a novel method to enhance tumor biopsy analysis. The technique utilizes the Crow’s Nest Biopsy Catchment System to capture dislodged tumor cells that would otherwise be discarded with the needle, in addition to the standard tissue core, potentially expanding the proportion of patients who can have the benefit of genomic testing. The study highlights a potential path toward greater diagnostic yield from a single biopsy. View the full article here.
